ADVENTURE TOURISM : THE AGUNG MOUNTAIN BALI

Gunung Agung is the highest mountain on the island of Bali with a height of 3142 masl. This mountain is located in district of Rendang, Karangasem - Bali.

Gunung Agung is a volcano stratovolcano, this mountain has a very large crater is very deep and sometimes off some smoke and water vapor. Pura Besakih From this mountain seems perfect with a pointed cone, but in fact the mountain peaks stretching and ends at a circular craters and wide.

From the peak of Mount Agung we can see the summit of Mount Rinjani in Lombok island, although both mountains covered with clouds as the two peaks are located above the clouds.

Balinese Hindus believe that Mount Agung is the place bersemayamnya gods, and also society believe that these ordinances are the palace of the gods. Therefore, the people of Bali as a place to make this place a purified Kramat.

Climbing to the top of this mountain can be started from the three point climbing namely:

* From the south of the strait through sangkan is power.
* From the southeast is from Budakeling by jackfruit
* From the southwest, is a climbing route that is commonly used by the climbers are from the Pura Besakih.
* Suggested for hikers to not bring food made from beef, because this mountain area is cleansed.
